Electrocardiogram, ECG/EKG, Types of ECG, QRS complex, Physiology Made Easy

▪ An electrocardiogram (ECG) also known as electrocardiography is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. An ECG is often used alongside other tests to help diagnose and monitor conditions affecting the heart. It can be used to investigate symptoms of a possible heart problem, such as chest pain, palpitations (suddenly noticeable heartbeats), dizziness and shortness of breath. ▪ There are 3 main types of ECG: 1- Resting ECG – carried out while you're lying down in a comfortable position 2- Stress or exercise ECG – carried out while you're using an exercise bike or treadmill 3- Ambulatory ECG (sometimes called a Holter monitor) – the electrodes are connected to a small portable machine worn at your waist so your heart can be monitored at home for 1 or more days. The type of ECG you have will depend on your symptoms and the heart problem suspected. ▪ The standard ECG has 12 leads. Six of the leads are considered “limb leads” because they are placed on the arms and/or legs of the individual. The other six leads are considered “precordial leads” because they are placed on the torso (precordium). ▪ A normal ECG contains waves, intervals, segments and one complex. The P wave indicates atrial depolarization. The QRS complex consists of a Q wave, R wave and S wave and represents ventricular depolarization. The T wave comes after the QRS complex and indicates ventricular repolarization. ▪ An ECG can help detect: arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, heart attacks and cardiomyopathy. #ecg #ekg #electrocardiogram #electrocardiography #qrscomplex #physiology #cardiology #meded #pharmacybyasim Chapters: 0:00 - intro 0:05 - Electrocardiogram (ECG) 0:29 - Uses of Electrocardiogram (ECG) 0:50 - Types of Electrocardiogram (ECG) 1:30 - Electrocardiogram (ECG) leads and electrodes 1:54 - Electrocardiogram (ECG) waves 2:12 - Electrocardiogram (ECG) intervals 2:31 - Electrocardiogram (ECG) segments 2:48 - Electrocardiogram (ECG) complex 3:24 - Clinical Applications of Electrocardiogram (ECG) ecg, ekg, electrocardiogram, electrocardiogram ecg, ecg electrocardiography, types of electrocardiography, ecg leads and electrodes, ecg segment and intervals, ecg qrs complex electrocardiogram ecg, electrocardiogram of heart, electrocardiogram physiology, electrocardiogram of heart physiology, types of ecg waves, types of ecg leads, types of ecg electrodes, ecg interval and segment, ecg qrs complex, use of ecg test, meded, physiology made easy, pharmacy by asim ☕ Buy Me A Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/pharmacyd 💡 Facebook:   / pharmacyd0929   For any Queries and Suggestions Email on: [email protected] Disclaimer: "Content is For Informational & Education Purpose Only, Creamed From Various Authentic Books of Pharmacy & Medicine.
