The plaintiffs, and mother and her teen daughter, hired the defendant to make a prom dress. The defendant is a fashion designer who turned to sewing and design as an outlet for his childhood trauma. The mother claims the defendant didn’t finish her daughter’s dress until prom day, and when she tried it on, it ripped. The daughter ended up having to miss her prom, so they’re suing for a refund. The defendant argues the plaintiffs never showed up for fittings, so it’s their fault the dress didn’t fit.
