Bolt Thrower: This time it's war

Another tribute to the mighty Bolt Thrower. This time it's war. A song taken from their amazing 'IVth crusade' album. The liveclip is truly amazing bootleg capture which you can check out here in its' original form (and take a note how audience is living and breathing the music, too) :    • BOLT THROWER - LIVE IN MANCHESTER 16/...   Why this album for this tribute, one might ask? Well, my reason is pretty simple: Personally I think Bolt Thrower perfected their own brand of death metal on this very album, 'IVth crusade'. Even that for me "realm of chaos" is forever magical blast, sure, but from that into the death metal machine which Bolt Thrower evolved, that very finetuned warmachine of death metal - it's in such a fine form on 'IVth crusade' album. Back when the album originally came out (and I instantly bought it as CD) it felt like an amazing entry into doomish death metal style, it wasn't so easy to see the progression then as it is to see it now, tens of years later. Listening to the album now, it truly sounds like ... you know how 'Warmaster' is, it is great album in its' style, too, yeah ... but as you listen to 'IVth crusade', you can sense how in many ways it is also like 'Warmaster brought to few levels higher, slowed down, made even heavier, and more melody thrown in'. Back in the early'ish 1990s when 'IVth crusade' was new album, I just enjoyed it as it was, slower (almost doomish to some extent), really great death metal album with excellent production (too) ... but it's also Warmaster taken to highest possible level musically speaking (and yeah, dropping the remaining blast beats while at it, but replacing them with tanklike double bass drumming), and it's also more than well'oiled death metal machine rolling on the fields of their very own musical war so to speak. I know how the band themselves said about 'Those once loyal' - who wouldn't - it's their best album, musically and production'wise, can't be topped, no reason to even try and so it became their last album, unfortunately (if you ask me) ... well, it is a great album for sure, one of their best, but honestly after years and years of listening to Bolt Thrower, from debut to last album, I personally would say 'IVth crusade' is the ultimate album in many ways, if I had to choose just one from their later era. And that's also why I crafted this lil' tribute video. Take a look how the band connects with audience with 'IVth crusade' material and take a look how audience reacts. It's magical, you can almost sense the vibe from the 30 years old video material. Awesome, methinks. Enjoy!
