They are not good parents and have been mistreating her for years. She was a sickly child and they had to spend a lot of money on her medical bills. Their love for her quickly grew into resentment. They made her start working for them when she was 15 so that she could earn her college fund. She was never allowed to have a life outside their house and for that she despises them. Now in her second year in college, she makes every excuse not to go home. Even though her adoptive father is sick and her adoptive mother needs help taking care of him. Op is tired of being used by them with no thanks. One day, op is mistaken for another girl called Sophia. When she finds this girl, she realizes that they are doppelgangers. They laugh it off and do not believe that they are related. However, Sophia tells her mom Daisy about Op. Daisy visits Op and tells her that she is her child. She was told op was stillborn, but it is clear she wasn’t. Op is shocked by this but it seems believable enough. She asks her adoptive parents to help her get information about her adoption. They were very unhelpful and tried to extort her for information. Daisy tells her not to give in and offers her help. Working together they get some information from the orphanage she was adopted from. After some resistance op finds a woman named Lola gave her up for adoption. It turns out Lola (Daisy’s SIL) bribed a nurse to lie that one of Daisy’s twins was stillborn and then gave op up for adoption. Lola did this because she was jealous that Daisy got twins while she could not carry her own child to term. Op, Sophia, and Daisy then go to Lola’s birthday party where they expose her and get her arrested. She is sentenced to 20 years in prison and her whole family disowns her.
