Potreros de selección es una serie que nos cuenta el camino de los jugadores argentinos que ganaron la Copa del Mundo, Qatar 2022. A través de las historias contadas por el círculo íntimo del jugador, nos adentramos en su vida; conocemos en qué barrio dio sus primeros pasos, cómo fue su recorrido por inferiores, la llegada a un club de primera división y la ansiada convocatoria a la selección argentina. En este episodio presentamos la historia de GONZALO MONTIEL Gonzalo Ariel Montiel nació en Barrio esperanza Virrey del Pino en La Matanza; Con el apoyo de sus padres, Juan Marcelo y Marisa, empezó de chico a jugar en Club Deportivo Social el Tala. En 2007, su papá lo llevo a River Plate. Viajaba 2-3 horas cada día a entrenar en River. Fernando "Bocha" Batista vio su talento y entro a la selección de Sub-20 de Argentina. En 2016 debutó en River, metiendo gol en su primer partido. Llevo a su familia a Madrid para ganar la Copa Libertadores con River Plate en el superclásico contra Boca Juniors. En 2019 fue convocado a la selección de Argentina ayudando a Leo Messi y a la selección ganar la Copa América. Después llegó su pase al exterior en 2021, al Sevilla de España, donde siguió sumando minutos y consiguió que lo convocaran para jugar el Mundial de Qatar. Gonzalo Ariel Montiel was born in Barrio Esperanza Virrey del Pino in La Matanza; with the support of his parents, Juan Marcelo and Marisa, he started playing in Club Deportivo Social el Tala when he was a kid. In 2007, his father took him to River Plate. He traveled 2-3 hours every day to train at River Plate. Fernando "Bocha" Batista saw his talent and got him into the U-20 national team of Argentina. In 2016 he made his debut for River, scoring a goal in his first game. He took his family to Madrid to win the Copa Libertadores with River Plate in the superclásico against Boca Juniors. In 2019 he was called up to the Argentina national team helping Leo Messi and the national team win the Copa America. Then came his move abroad in 2021, to Sevilla of Spain, where he continued to add minutes and managed to be called to play the World Cup in Qatar. He won the World Cup and was included in Lionel Scaloni's starting team in Qatar.
