The icon skating duo are known up and down Britain, but have the pair ever been more than just friends? Trending  While Jayne and Chris's chemistry on the ice is undeniable, the pair are said to have remained friends since first meeting in the 1970s. However, the pair did once admit they almost had a budding romance, while appearing on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2013. In the interview, Chris revealed the pair had 'dabbled' but left it at that. This caused many fans to speculate if the pair ever dated and "dabble- gate" was created.  Torvil and Dean play with fire for Olympic routine  But the rumours were put to rest ahead of the release of their biopic called Torvill and Dean as the pair confirmed dabble-gate was just a kiss. In an interview with Radio Times Jayne said: "We did actually kiss once – before we were a skating couple. "We were in the back of the bus going to a league match, and it just happened. It was a one-off. "We never talked about it afterwards. We laugh about it now.  "Chris comes out with things without filtering them, and on Piers Morgan's Life Stories he said, 'We dabbled.' "So that's what it is now – Dabblegate. It was a kiss!" Christopher went on to say: "Dabblegate' was just a teenage kiss in the back of a bus. "We were 14 years old, and teenagers in the most naive sense.  Jayne Torvill: Christopher Dean has 'more trust' in Jayne than anyone  "We didn't talk about it much after. The skating was everything, and having a relationship just didn't occur to us." He explained that while the pair still love each other, it is more of a platonic love. Chris explained: "There is still a romance, though. I love Jayne. But in a passionate friend way. Jayne has previously spoken of how their chemistry on the ice can be confused as real.  Jayne told the Sun: "We're taking a role when we perform. "From performing so much, we've learned to be different people. "We were in love for the two minutes that we were dancing."
