Only the Omey Dwarves operating this mine know how deep it really goes. They were responsible for adding numerous metals to the periodic table over the ages. This mine has been in operation for over 1500 years and its entrance is guarded by a formidable fortress. 🏰🏯 DM Description: "The Omey Dwarves are not only exceptional miners. They are the creators of numerous varieties of catapults. Particularly, the Omey Catapult, which is the lightest catapult known to date with an almost impossible reach of a 1000 meters. It has been dupped the Kilometer Swing and has kept out invading armies for all the time being. A fully metal alloy build shooting semi hollow balls of magnesium, lithium or graphene as they are the lightest yet strong forms of metal. On impact poison, bright light, fire and magic break free doing considerable AOE damage. It is estimated that about 5000 Dwarves operate and life within the fortress and mine. They are friendly to visitors, though they will put you through a rigorous safety check. They do not trust Necromancers and those attuned to Chaotic Evil. Time to meet the Omey Dwarves and perhaps aid them in defending the Omey Mine. Rumors drift around about a large orc army amassing in the East. Or… perhaps find out how deep the mine really goes." Possible Encounters: - Othala ᛟ : the name given to each ruling King of the Omey Dwarven city and fortress. An ancient rune symbol is connected to the word an refers to ancestral property, wisdom, inherent talent and homecoming; the sense of belonging. - Dwarven miners, scientists, blacksmiths, farmers, shopkeepers, a few yet advanced dwarven magicians and common dwarves. - Omey Dwarf Patrol: As the adventurers approach Omey Fortress, they encounter a patrol of Omey Dwarves armed with a Hectometer Swing. The dwarves are wary but not hostile, questioning the party's intentions and ensuring they pose no threat. - Guardian Golems: Deep within the fortress, the party encounters guardian golems crafted by the Omey Dwarves to protect their precious mine. These golems are formidable opponents, resistant to conventional weapons and capable of unleashing devastating attacks. - Orc Saboteurs: Infiltrating the fortress, the party discovers a group of orc saboteurs attempting to sabotage the Kilometer Swing catapults. A fierce battle ensues as the adventurers must protect the catapults from destruction while fending off the orc invaders. - Crystal Cavern Ambush: Venturing into a network of crystal caverns beneath Omey Fortress, the party is ambushed by a pack of crystal-infused creatures that dwell in the depths. These creatures, adapted to the harsh conditions of the underground, possess crystalline armor that makes them formidable opponents. Deep Mine Expedition: Venturing into the depths of the Omey Mine, the party encounters treacherous tunnels filled with hazards such as cave-ins, toxic gases, and hostile creatures. They must navigate these dangers to uncover the mine's secrets and potential riches. Items/Loot: Omey Catapult Blueprints: The party discovers blueprints detailing the design and construction of the legendary Kilometer Swing catapults. With these blueprints, skilled engineers can replicate the catapults or develop new siege weapons of their own. Hectometer Swing: A small handheld catapult capable of reaching a 100 meter distance. Crystal Shard Artifacts: Scattered throughout the crystal caverns beneath the fortress, the party finds ancient crystal shard artifacts imbued with mysterious powers. These shards can be used to enhance magical spells, create protective wards, or unlock hidden passages within the fortress. Rare Metals and Minerals: Delving deep into the Omey Mine, the party uncovers veins of rare metals and minerals not found anywhere else in the world. These precious resources can be used to forge powerful magical artifacts or traded for vast sums of wealth. Ancient Relics: Hidden within the fortress's vaults, the party discovers ancient relics dating back to the founding of the Omey Dwarves.
