ECEA CDR ormond farms race day! peewee motocross race !

Today is the day we've been anticipating for quite a few months now! The first ECEA race of the 2024 season! We take tortuga for a night of camping as this one was a 3 hour drive from our home. The next morning the boys are so excited to race! It's a cold and rainy day and the track is either deep sand or mud, but the boys push through! After getting all their gear on they head to tech inspection. Once they are all set it's time to head to the starting line! The youth coordinator says a prayer and plays the national anthem before the peewee group (ages 4-8) takes off with an exciting start! The parents disperse to try and get eyes on their kiddos when we hear they called a red flag. No one is sure what is happening, but we soon find out it was a scoring issue and nobody is hurt. The volunteers direct the children off the course and back toward the starting line for a restart. The children are confused as this hasn't happened to them before, but they are ready to go again! The pee wee group has another exciting start! We manage to get some footage of the boys in different areas in the several mile long laps. Bo stops when he sees dad as he got hurt and wanted to quit. With a little encouragement and help from a fellow father, Bo gets back out there to finish the race! He is okay but shaken and scared. We love this part about motocross BTW the other families support of one another is truly amazing 👏 and a honor to be a part of. The boys both finish this tough 1st race of the season and we are super proud as always. Taking off their gear Bo shows us how much sand and dirt he collected in his boots 😅 We ate some lunch and headed to the award ceremony ! The boys get their plaques and win a new pair of goggles !
