The song was recorded in October of 1967. The lesson covers the great intro riff, what he does during the 2 verses, and then of course the guitar solo section. The song basically has one single chord progression that Jimi plays through 4 times (+ a little more during fade out). First time is the intro, second and third times are the verses, and the fourth + time is the guitar solo. No bridge section or different chorus section or anything like that. Just one great chord progression repeated where he improvises over each time with his "Jimi-isms". My signal chain in this video was my '85 Strat into a Boss GE-7 EQ (pulled mids down slightly), New Instruments Ventillator II (Leslie/rotary speaker pedal), added MXR Phase 90 on solo, split into stereo signal out to a '64 Super Reverb (4x10 jensens) and a 1963 Fender Bassman (2x12 Oxfords). Not that I can perfectly replicate Jimi's sound at all, but I like the mix of the 10s and 12s between those 2 amps, and I think it all comes reasonably close.
