The Suprême Croissant from Lafayette Grand Bakery and Café practically broke the internet when it went totally viral in 2022. People would line up for hours trying to get their hands on one of these buttery (and expensive) circles of goodness. In fact, it was so popular that copy cat Suprêmes have popped up everywhere from Melbourne to Tokyo. Not to mention, it has kicked off a total croissant craze with bakers racing to come up with the latest and greatest new croissant idea with the hopes of going just as viral. But is the Suprême croissant worth your time, the money, and stomach space? I headed to Lafayette Grand Bakery and Café in Noho on a casual Wednesday to snag a Suprême croissant to see what the hubbub is all about, and I’m giving my honest thoughts here.
