Although I can't say that I had the pleasure of knowing Kevin on a personal level, I know that many of my friends, and their older siblings were close with him. Regardless, I still believe it's important, even as someone who was not close with him, to show my support for his family, friends, and the community he was a part of in any way I can. I attend SPF and ASP at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church every year, just as Kevin did. I have often heard Alida talk about him and how amazing he was, often using the term "afterglow". Afterglow, to me, is what we leave behind and the feeling that is invoked in people when they hear our name once we are no longer around. I also would say that it is not the same with everyone and that we all have our different "afterglows" that we leave behind. So Instead of carefully writing out a piece, I thought it might be better to simply improvise something on the spot with that word in mind. It's not perfect and theres plenty of mistakes I make while playing, but that might suit the purpose of it a little better. I hope you all enjoy this piece, especially Kevin's family (if they see it) and all of his close friends.
