Suspicious Fire Destroys Garage | National City

2.10.2021 | 6:56 AM | NATIONAL CITY - A garage was destroyed by flames and the cause remains under investigation after an early morning structure fire Wednesday morning. Firefighters and police received calls for the reported blaze shortly before 7 AM in the area of 5th Street & Lantana Drive in National City. Firefighters arrived to find a garage fully involved with heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Thankfully, firefighters got the fire out quickly. National City Auto Body was using the building for storage next to their business. Electrical lines came down leaving one home without power. One resident said that people have been spraying graffiti all week along the walls and the resident interfered with the males this morning and soon thereafter, the fire started.
