♥Come behind the scenes as I cut my own hair. It's not as challenging as you might think! The key is to have two good mirrors and good lighting - and in this case the iPad was standing in for the second mirror - so that made it a little more challenging. But I think you can still get the idea that this is something some folks will be able to do. ♥I'm using a #3 cutting guard on the clippers, which is 3/8 of an inch or 9.5 mm. And yes I already know the clippers need adjustment, and I suppose I will eventually need to replace them - but I'm in no hurry to do that. I'm also using a small fine comb, a regular barber's scissors, a pair of thinning shears, and a glass of water. ♥Super short minimalist hair is not for everyone! But for those who are interested or curious - this will help. It won't give you the thirty five years of cutting hair (my own and others) that I have... but it will help. ♥The funny part is... I've grown out my hair since I made this video. So if you see me out and about (or here in a video) you'll see me in various stages of growing out this pixie cut. I am finding (much to my surprise) that I can have super simple minimalist hair at any length. I don't think I believed that was possible when I made this video. I've recently gone through hair loss associated with chemotherapy and I came back to this video with new eyes. This really is the perfect cut for heading into chemo hair loss - when you know it's coming. And it's really the perfect cut to begin the growing out process. I think wearing my hair in this style for many years made it much easier for me to navigate the transition from my then-long hair back to zero hair and then into this pixie cut.
