The wind-whipped rain pounded the island for hours together. In the capital city of Kingston most of the places didn’t have electricity. In the rural areas, roads were damaged and trees and electricity poles had fallen down. Emergency crews were working tirelessly to shift the people in flood-prone areas to shelter facilities. Nearly 500 people had to be put in government’s shelter houses. Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness said he was concerned about the hurricane’s devastating impacts on Jamaica.
