Jungle by Marc the Darc This is my entry for the Hardware Jams fecesbook group, week 19, 3 Body Problem challenge part 2.   / hardwarejams   Episode 2 of the challenges inspired by 3 Body Problem has landed! One of the topics of the TV series was nanotechnology. The ability to manipulate matter on a nanoscale level is a concept that can be transferred to our music making process. We can only determine that the nearest music concept to this scientific one is: microtuning and microsteps. Bring on your jam featuring either concept or a combination of those. Also used the japanese In-Sen scale for that esoteric vibe. Not the first time I've used it though. And I had this uncanny feeling I'd heard the chord progression before. I finally figured it out after upload: It sounds a LOT like the progression from Troll Attack. Damn. That was not intended... The breaks are multiple edits of 2 bespoke breaks. The other sounds are a mix of Roland XV-5080 (piano), Korg M1 plugin (pad) and Arturia Pigments (bass). Voice is run through TC Helicon VoiceTone T1 and VoiceTone Synth. I was really not feeling any vibes this weekend. I spent so much time just staring at the gear, getting absolutely nowhere. Ableton crashed (first time since october or so) and refused restart. One of my plugins suddenly demanded reauthorisation. Internet, especially anything google (F you g!), has been acting really weird. Rendering the video took an entire lifetime, so it is my clone writing this, the original one died of old age waiting for the render. I really can't tell you how much time I spent over all. Far too much. Actual active working time, perhaps 1½ hour. Some of it I feel is really really good. And other parts would've been a lot better, if I could just get in the groove.
