Consonant blends, also known as consonant clusters, are groups of two or more consonants that appear together in a word, with each consonant retaining its own sound. These blends can occur at the beginning, middle, or end of words. When pronouncing a consonant blend, each consonant sound is articulated; you hear both sounds at the same time. Examples of consonant blends include: "bl" as in "black" "br" as in "brown" "cl" as in "climb" "cr" as in "crisp" "dr" as in "drink" "fl" as in "fly" "fr" as in "frog"
