His Arabesken of 1940 is his very last finished work. Like many of his chamber music compositions, it shows a remarkable complexity both in his compositional and instrumental traits; however, it was defined as a “tiny little amusing Trio” by the musician himself, who had dedicated it to his friend and former student Hans Chemin-Petit."
