Here I bring up the subject of pickup height for your guitar pickups, there is no set rule so I discuss the the good and the bad points of height placement. Remember that every person, pickup and guitar is different so we will all have a different preference but the main rules still apply. Many people just wind the pickup as near to the guitar strings as possible to get as much gain and treble as possible, although this may work well when practicing the real trick is to get a nice even well rounded sound with more complexity and dynamics in the sound.
