2022 USPSA Multi Gun Nationals Recap!

As a fan of a solid competitive race in 3-gun, the USPSA Multigun Nationals was one match I didn't want to miss. Even though it wasn't the biggest match, the field of great shooters from across the country was strong and the stakes were high. If you want to get better at 3-gun you've got to join me and the rest of the #DryfireCrew at www.DryfireMastery.com! Now, let's go over some of the pros, cons, and general feelings about the match: 1. USPSA Multigun has long been the red-headed stepchild of USPSA, however this year there was definitely a shift in the feel for the match. The board adjusted some of the overly-stringent gun handling rules and took a HUGE step in the right direction with the RO's being generally on board with the idea of maintaining safety while allowing the shooters to work their gear without fear of a DQ. 2. The stages were fun, but nothing that said "Nationals". There weren't any unique challenges, very little opportunity for options, and surprisingly low round count. For 12 stages I shot a total of 170 shotgun, 177 rifle, and 139 pistol. Many of the stages had very long reset times due to having to wait until the shooter was finished to start the process and gun staging issues. 3. On the positive side there was FOOD! And damn good food too. Lunch each day was covered by USPSA and was great BBQ. The awards dinner was sponsored by Vortex Optics and included prime rib and all the fixings. 10/10 on the food side of things. 4. The scores were posted within minutes of running a stage and made it easy to keep tabs on the current standings and see where one might need to push. If you're one of the people who obsess over the scores during the match this is a great plus. I could go on, but you get the idea. Overall it was a great time with some awesome shooters and a tight race all the way to the very last stage. I ended up in 5th place in Open Division with only a 3.7% gap between me and first place. I want to give a huge shoutout to the sponsors of the match as well as my own sponsors! Thanks to Sig for the M400 Tread rifle I won off the prize table! Be sure to checkout Cobalt Kinetics if you want an awesome rifle! I went 1 for 1 on all of the long range this match with my 13.7 Cobalt Pro. If you want the best pistol in Open Division look no further than the Atlas Gunworks Erebus. This slide-ride open gun was designed with the 3-gunner in mind and runs factory ammo with zero issues. Also check out G9 Ammo for all of your competition and defensive needs! Vortex Optics has been my go to for many years now and they're a huge supporter of the shooting sports! When it comes to affordable and effective ear protection, I choose Grizzly Ears. You can order yours here: https://farewellfirearms.com/product/... I also recommend my Signature Series holster from Priority 1. They've served me well for years.
