A 1,200-plane airborne assault preceded an amphibious assault involving more than 5,000 vessels. Nearly 160,000 troops crossed the English Channel on 6 June, some 13,100 of them, American paratroopers from the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. In this video, we take accurately recreate the routing of the 87th Troop Carrier Squadron, on their flight to deliver the 101st Airborne Division into Normandy. We'll be using the superb, freeware, Aeroworx C-47 Skytrain, within X-Plane 12, departing and arriving from Orbx's Old Warden (EGTH).
