Rusty x Torq Dwart Surfboard Review

The brand new colab between Torq and Rusty in the excellent EPS epoxy TEC construction has landed. The first model in this colab is the Torq X Rusty Dwart surfboard. Anyone who has been surfing for a while will remember the Dwart it was a total game changer one of the first high volume shorter groveler style boards that dominated back in the day. The Tec epoxy construction used by Torq in this model is as good as any other epoxy build out there, the finish and quality is unrivalled. We see a lot of surfboads and the build on this has blown us away, especially at this price point. Epoxy means faster surfing, a more responsive ride and life long retention of that performance, this particular epoxy is tough too compared to standard PU boards. Glassing is 4/4oz & 4oz under 6' 0 and 6/4oz & 4oz on any board over 6' 0. The name "Dwart" originates from "Double Winged and Rounded Tail" defining the board's all-around capabilities. The Dwart is engineered to be the go-to board for 90% of the waves we all surf, it has a high-volume design, allowing it to be ridden 4-6” shorter than traditional shortboards. The Dwart offers effortless wave-catching and impressive speed, due to its minimal rocker and fairly thick profile. A fuller rail, transitions into a foiled-out tail offering maximum backfoot performance. The Dwart features a relatively flat rocker, transitioning into a slight single concave at the middle, evolving into a defined double concave and flat out the tail. Dwart’s distinctive double-winged tail provides a skatey feel while maintaining control in larger waves. With a versatile 5-fin setup, you can easily switch fin configurations based on varying conditions. Suitable for surfers of all levels, this board promises fun If you are a improving intermediate level surfer, picking the Dwart would be great, size it up a little to allow the higher wave count and control. If you are a decent level surfer and above, trust the design and outline, match or only just go above your daily driver volume and you’ll get the most versatile version of the Dwart, you can size up a couple of litres to make the most of smaller swells. As a premier Torq and Rusty stockist, we pride ourselves on giving what we think is good solid advice without any of the over-eager sales driven BS often encountered by our customers elsewhere. #surfboards #surfboardreview
