A brief moment of conversation from our recent event with Ustad Dildar Hussain & Ustad Shahbaz Hussain where the two of them held a conversation between the classical and qawwali tabla of Punjab. In this brief aside, Ustad Dildar talks of a golden era where he was fortunate to have visited India along with Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and were hosted by Ustad Alla Rakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain. Ustad Dildar talks of having a desire from a very early age to incorporate the classical tabla of Punjab into his Qawwali tabla and how he had blended some of Ustad Mian Shaukat Hussain into his Qawwali tabla. Hence, meeting more from that great era of classical Ustads is something he always wanted to do.
