I shot this video on my ten year old Canon PowerShot SX 230 HS to compare against the Samsung Galaxy A10e. Image quality is similar between the two in bright sunlight, but the sound quality is better and the presence of optical image stabilzation helps reduces shaking. This camera predates Canon's Intelligent IS, so there are still a few shakes here and there. Both devices record video at a maximum resolution of 1080p, but the Canon PowerShot SX 230 HS records at 24 frames per second versus 30 frames per second with the Samsung Galaxy A10e. Out of these two, the Canon PowerShot SX 230 HS is the clear winner for video recording, due in part to optical image stabilization and better microphones. However, the SX 230 HS, like all 2011 PowerShot models with the CMOS sensor, strugles in low-light situations while shooting video, so the A10e may have an advantage with low-light video.
