CASHMERE DOESKIN BLAZERS 100% Khan Cashmere HS 1692 | Jacketing | 340grm 11oz Holland & Sherry’s finest blazer quality is woven from luxurious Khan Cashmere. This distinctive collection features a smooth sensuous doeskin cloth finish with a beautiful handle and excellent selection of colours. Cashmere comes from the fleece of goats living in the high uplands of countries such as Mongolia. The luxurious fibres are gently gathered from the goats by carefully handcombing their fleece. The soft undercoat or underlayer of hair protects the goats during the harsh winter months and sheds naturally in the Spring. After combing, the tough outer guard hairs are separated out leaving only the finest fibres. Cashmere is one of the most valued and exquisite of animal hairs because of its incredible softness. Transforming woven cashmere into a luxurious finished product has remained unchanged for hundreds of years. After washing and pressing there is a special raising process carried out on cashmere. This involves the use of natural teasel heads. Historically, teasels were made into brushes and the cloth gently brushed. Today the dried heads of the teasel plantare placed between bars, which are fixed round a largerevolving drum. When the teasel heads are wet, they become flexible and the hooked ends gently tease out and align the cashmere fibres to produce the characteristic luxurious ripple finish.
