If you are new to 4 wheel driving and are on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland this video may interest you. In this episode we take the Mapleton Forest track from Mapleton to Yandina. This is an 'easy' rated track which means you shouldn't need to pack all the recovery gear. The road follows a ridge line in the Mapleton National Park. The area was logged back around 100 years ago but you would hardly know it except for the stumps of some old trees in amongst the tall trees that cover the landscape. Col in his Nissan Patrol and Ray in his Holden Trailblazer take the main track and some allowed side tracks to show some easy trails that can be done in a stock 4wd. If you are looking for something to do on the Sunshine Coast, and you have a 4wd, then this trip takes just a few hours.
