Loose arm skin can negatively affect a person’s life. Batwing arms make it hard to wear sleeveless tops and short sleeves. The skin can also rub together, causing rashes and discomfort. Arm Lift surgery (Brachioplasty) is a common operation after weight loss. There are two types. A standard Arm Lift removes excess skin and fat from the underside of the upper arms with an incision from the elbow to the armpit. An Extended Arm Lift can also include the lateral chest wall. In addition to removing skin, I also use VASER Liposuction to tone and shape the arms. I find this gives a beautiful result. The operation takes three to four hours. The recovery is just as important as the operation.
