It's the end of August (already!), and we're discussing the dahlias. It has been a TOUGH year for dahlias for everyone, it seems. Every bloom is a victory - nay, a miracle. So let's chat about some of my first blooming varieties, how to stake dahlias, some seed varieties, and some surprises that bloomed in the field. A note on the battery. Affiliate link below is the closest to what we have. In my husband's words: "it needs to be 12volts because we are using a 12 volt pump. It needs to be deep cycle because deep cycle batteries are meant to be drained and recharged. Normal car batteries have the engine alternator constantly charging them back up, so those won’t work. The last piece is amp hour.
