There are elements of Maurice Ravel's 'Daphne et Chloe' in this. You can find this version on a cd called "The New York Pops Go To The Movies' on Amazon. In this Otto Preminger directed film noir we meet some of the defining characters of the genre, and we view one of the best movies of the 40s. Despite the great script, to-a-tee acting, smoky atmosphere and moody cinematography, what really comes in to focus with this movie is its music.
