An inexpensive parlor-sized guitar targeted as a student model and for home playing. Elvis Presley is seen playing one (that he eventually smashes) in "Jailhouse Rock." Solid birch top and body, maple fingerboard stained rosewood, accurately fretted and with painted fret markers. This model has a sunburst vertical faux-flame finish, with a narrow white stripe on the top edge and soundhole. Floating bridge and metal tailpiece. 13.25" wide, 35.75" long, 3.75" body depth, and 24.25" scale length. List price: $23.00 in 1957, $28.50 in 1967 and $31.50 in 1969.
