*NEW* HARVESTING AND PRESERVING BUTTERNUT SQUASH 5 WAYS//Canning and Freezing Butternut Squash

In this video, I take you through my butternut squash row and show you what to look for to know when to harvest your butternut squash. Then I take you through how I am going to preserve our squash 5 different ways. There is no easy way to peel and cut up these boogers. They are really firm and odd shaped. So you do the best you can, but I show you how I do mine. I roast some for PUREE (1), then I peel, scoop out pulp and seeds, and cut up some to FREEZE (2). Then I cube up more to pressure can different ways. DRY PACKING (3), CANNING IN VEGETABLE BROTH that I had just made from alot of zucchini and squash scraps I had on hand (4), then CANNING IN A SIMPLE SYRUP of water brown sugar and cinnamon and other spices (5). See 5 Ways. I will be able to use these in so many ways and use them in different recipes according to how I preserved them. Frying, roasting, soups, stews, or just opening up a jar and using it as a side dish. Especially the simple syrup ones.
