Jakarta Kids Show Me Their Slums: I explored 'Muara Angke' - a fishing port located along the north coast of Jakarta that is directly adjacent to the Java Sea. It's one of the biggest fish sale places in whole Indonesia. The port is integrated with fishermen's housing and a fishing port management office owned by the Jakarta government. It has modern fish market with supporting facilities for landing and auction of fishes. The port is located at the mouth of Angke River, where it meets Java Sea The fishing village is more than 65 hectares big and you can get many types of seafood. The Jakarta government is building Muara Angke Social Housing project which will have 35 blocks of apartments to accommodate the peoples living in the area Muara Angke Social Housing project The Muara Angke area is declared a slum area along with all the unique architecture, spatial formations and the environment. This condition of slum settlements occurs because many low-income urbanists are looking for a place to live in more affordable suburban areas.
