Victoria, Princess Royal & Emperor Frederick III The Princess Victoria, Princess Royal Vicky (Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa; 21 November 1840 5 August 1901) was the eldest child and daughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Frederick III Fritz (18 October 1831 15 June 1888 Frederick William Nicholas Charles), was the only son of Emperor William I and Augusta-Weimar. The young couples marriage took place on 25 January 1858, in the Chapel of St. James' Palace, London. The newlyweds were compatible from the start, and their marriage was a loving one; Victoria too had received a liberal education, and shared her husband's views. The couple had eight children: William in 1859, Charlotte in 1860, Henry in 1862, Sigismund in 1864, Victoria in 1866, Waldemar in 1868, Sophie in 1870 and Margaret in 1872. In a very conservative world, unfortunately Vicky and Fritz were incredibly liberal. This made them isolated from the court from Fritzs father, Kaiser William I, to their eldest son, Kaiser William II (their great tragedy). Their chief enemy, Otto von Bismark, was the main cause of this isolation and such. Fritz became Frederick III on March 9, 1888. He died only 99 days on June 15, 1888 later of cancer of the larynx.
