GonG filmed live at the Gong unconvention, Glastonbury Assembly Rooms, UK 22 Oct 2005. This was the final set of the whole event - many Gong members both past and present all together on stage making magic for us, the 200 lucky buggars who managed to get in. Most notable is the absence of front man Daevid Allen, who did not attend the event, and the return of former guitarist Steve Hillage, and keyboard player Tim Blake. There was practically no rehearsal for this set - it is more or less spontaneous, and though the recognizable songs have a lot of improvisation they flow beautifully. This truely was a special and very intimate show played for the real hardcore pot head pixies with love and lux. Good on ya, yas ! I filmed this with full permission, from the right hand side of the stage, squashed up to it with no audience in front of me. So ... it's a bad angle, but at least it's not got heads bobbing up and down all the time, plus I was close enough to get halfway decent audio with very little wooping from the audience. Also I used a little 'steady cam', so the picture is pretty stable all things considered. It was filmed on a panasonic VDR-M30 mini dvd camcorder in 480p (it was 2005 !). The stage was quite dark at times, and at others had lots of flashing lights etc, so the picture does go out of focus here and there because the VDR-M30 was a bit crap really in low light (it was the nutz at the time though !). This is the entire DVD - ripped for youtube - nothing missing - the full set.
