Moron

Moron is a delicacy of Samar and Leyte - particularly in Tacloban. It is a suman made with rice flour, glutinous rice flour, sugar and coconut milk which is cooked until it is thickened and then wrapped in banana leaves and then steamed. For the chocolate portion, you can use either of the following - tableya, chocolate block, chocolate chips, cocoa powder or sweetened chocolate. Some versions add some chopped peanuts but I personally prefer them without the nuts. I hope my version will do justice to the authentic moron. I have many recipes to share with you.
