Sixth FixIt video in the series. We found that our microwave would trip the breaker when opening the door. It turned out that one of the door interlock switches was bad and was able to be replaced for a few dollars instead of buying a new microwave! One thing to note, at the end when the unit was plugged back in and the door closed, there was a humming sound coming from the unit, like the magnetron was powered on, even though it wasn't set to be on. An internet search provided an answer: Sounds like one of the board relays is stuck open! Solution: Replace the board, which is the subject of FixIt007! Note Update: Some viewers have observed in the comments that some switches appear to have been switched (Normally Closed - NC and Normally Open - NO), but I don't recall that is what I did, although it's possible. The unit works as it should. It's always good to double-check that your switch replacements are the exact type of switch that you're taking out. Thanks for watching!
