This video is brought to you by: http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com Spring time is here and most likely your motorcycle has been sitting in the back corner of your garage crying to go for a ride. Please don't give into the temptations, just dust it off thinking everything is hunky dory and go for a ride as soon as you get a glimpse of sunlight. Take a few hours out of your day and do the routine maintenance your bike needs and deserves before hitting the open road. Todd walks you through a bunch of things to look at and service to make sure your first ride and many more rides after go safely and smoothly throughout the season. With these basic routine maintenance tips and a few hours of your time, you will feel a ton better knowing your bike is at it's best for your first ride of the season. 00:01 - Intro 00:56 - Battery Check 02:43 - Sportster oil change, drain the oil. 04:08 - Drain Sportster's primary/transmission fluid. 05:53 - Primary chain inspection cover removal. 06:45 - Inspect primary chain tension. 07:13 - Adjusting the tension on the primary chain. 09:01 - Talk about oil filters and oil filter wrenches. 11:25 - Clean primary drain plug off and change o-ring if needed. 12:48 - Put the primary drain plug back in and plug in the oil feed hose. 13:26 - Remove and replace oil filter. 15:45 - Replace O-rings on primary inspection cover and screws. Fill primary fluid with 1 quart - Panam Oil 85w/90 Sportster Primary 17:50 - Fill the bike with 2 and half or less quart - Panam Oil 20w-50 Engine Oil (Don't over fill it) 20:46 - Dyna oil change, drain all three fluids, engine oil, primary oil, and transmission oil. 22:49 - Remove the three drain plugs. 25:50 - Remove the primary derby cover. 26:22 - Clean off all three drain plugs and replace O-rings where needed. 26:31 - Put all three drain plugs back in. 27:00 - Change oil filter. 28:33 - Fill primary with 1 quart - Panam Oil 80w Big Twin Primary oil. 28:54 - Re install primary derby cover, replace gasket and or O-ring if needed. 29:58 - Fill engine oil with 2 and half quarts or less - Panam Oil 20w-50 Engine Oil (Don't over fill it) 31:35 - Fill transmission oil with 1 quart - Panam Oil 80w-90 transmission/gearbox oil 32:07 - Change your spark plugs, make sure there is gap on the plugs to the specification in your manual. 34:20 - Lube your moving joints with WD40. 34:47 - Brake inspection and service tech tip. 38:21 - Final battery inspection after letting sit on charger / check cables are tight. 38:56 - TIRE PREASURE! Check your tire pressure! 40:21 - Lube and adjust your clutch cable. 45:01 - Choke cable adjustment. 45:36 - Belt drive and chain drive inspection and adjustment. 48:47 - Chain drive, lube your chain. 49:51 - Check our air cleaner filter. Clean or replace if dirty. 50:52 - Lube your throttle cable/cables. 53:40 - What to do when throttle is sticking, what to check. 55:00 - Check all lighting equipment, replace bulbs burnt out, clean the sockets with electrical contact grease if needed. 56:15 - GO FOR A RIDE!
