In this video, you’ll find a few "Dutch" low kick combos I designed for fighters looking to expand their skill and technical level. It’s particularly designed for fighters interested in developing a more well-rounded K-1 kickboxing game. For beginners, all kickboxing might look more or less the same, but in reality, the Dutch have been incredibly innovative in their approach to kickboxing technique. If you want to become more skilled at Dutch style kickboxing, you have to become more comfortable moving in and out with strikes. The dynamic nature of Dutch kickboxing is part of what has made it both popular and effective, but it is also what makes it a difficult fighting style to master. In this video, I’ve explored a number of low kick drills that help athletes develop techniques that Dutch K-1 fighters use effectively in their fights. Dutch kickboxing is very dynamic, which makes it a great style to transition to MMA if that’s what you’re interested in. Athletes like Alistair Overeem are accomplished kickboxers, and have been able to find great success in the UFC using techniques like the ones I demonstrate in this video.
