The motor was invented by the French engineer Marius Lavet in 1936. The mechanism is a stepper motor that gets triggered once a second by an electromagnetic field generated by a coil. A quartz and a frequency divider are responsible for the 1Hz electric pulses. We see the motor spinning, learn about the principle of the mechanism and see the signal on a scope.
