Alternatively, if you are a solo traveller you can take a MRT from Sukhumvit to SAMYOT MRT Station. This video gives you an insight of Sampeng market , which is one of the cheapest market in Bangkok. This is located close to YAOWARAT Road . This is the heart of China town in Bangkok. To explore this market you need few hours. The deals are better at night time.
