Mercedes 508 gets stuck in Albanian mudd

From Tunisia we took the ferry back to Italy and fom there about two weeks later to Albania. We read about bad road conditions in Albania before, but didn't expect this! 4 days we were stuck in the mudd somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the Albanian hinterland. After two days of rain the roads had transformed into extremely slippery and sticky mudd slopes and our Düdo slowly but steadily sunk deeper and deeper 😱! We had to endure the rain and the whole situation with no food, no internet, no phone connection and were completely isolated from the outside world... In a small village near by (20 people) nobody owned a car, that could have dragged us out. On the third day one of the villagers organized his nephew to come with his 4x4 Jeep. But he miserably failed to pull us out, our Düdo didn't move a single centimeter 😲! In the early early morning on the fourth day, it was freezing cold, a tractor came to rescue us! The driver had to wake up in the middle of the night and drove for 4 hours to reach our location, as there was just no other similar vehicle in the whole area! But the tractor 🚜 finally did it an freed us ✨🥳! That all was quite an adventure! Our differential was heavily leaking afterwards and had to be fixed, but we are so happy to have solid and flat soil underneath us again. And we are extremely grateful for the help of the locals, who organized everything and shared their home with us 🧡!
