In an interview with Global News, actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who plays Uncle Iroh in Netflix's new live action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender, spoke about the "golden age" of Asian representation in Hollywood and in the show. "It really is mind-blowing," he said. "When I started off, it felt like a desolate wasteland," Lee added, stating in the past, diverse characters rarely played pivotal roles in film or television, often serving as stereotyped or background characters.
