Spline is an extremely easy to learn 3D application for modeling and rendering 3D scenes. While it has just a fraction of the features of Max, Maya or Blender, it also has a fraction of the learning curve and contains most of the basic features you need, like box modeling tools (extrude, loop cut, edge slide, etc.), simple sculpting tools and more. You can also work with others on the same project in a collaborative effort. Even better, the free version is truly useful with few limitations.
