Mike Bibby: The Final Piece of the Sacramento Kings “Greatest Show on Court” Offense | FPP

The Son of a former NBA player, Mike BIbby made his mark in two seasons at Arizona where as a freshman, he helped lead the Wildcats to the NCAA Championship. He began his career on the short lived Vancouver Grizzlies along with guys like Bryant “Big Country” Reeves and Shareef Abdur-Rahim, but they would have little success in his three years there. It was in the 2002 season, after he had been traded the Sacramento Kings, when his career took off. Bibby was the final piece to the Greatest Show on Court offense alongside Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Vlade Divac and Doug Christie; as he helped lead the Kings to a Western Conference Finals appearance in 2002, which would become the most controversial series in NBA history. The Kings would never be able to recreate the same success and over the years, the once great team slowly fell apart. Bibby had some great years in the mid 2000s with Ron Artest and Kevin Martin, and some would argue that he deserved to be an all star at least once. However, in 2008, he would final starter from the ’02 Conference Finals team to go. He would join a young Atlanta Hawks team as a veteran point guard, and although he never had the same numbers as he did in Sacramento he was poised leader for a Hawks team that made some noise in the late 2000s. He would have a late career NBA Finals appearance with the Miami Heat Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh before playing his final season with the New York Knicks in 2012. He was a model of consistency and durability during his time in the league, however, this consistency would usually only extend to the regular season, as one of the postseason hit, you never knew what you were going to get from Mike BIbby. But all things considered, he is still one of the great overlooked point guards of the 21st century and deserves some recognition. https://www.basketball-reference.com/...
