Space Hulk: Tactics Gameplay | Complete Blood Angels Vs Genestealers Skirmish

Many have tried to bring Space Hulk to life in videogame form, and now it’s the turn of Cynanide Studios. Space Hulk Tactics builds on the traditional board game rules with a new card system that you can see in action in our exclusive skirmish gameplay. Watch a game from start to finish as the Blood Angels take on the Genestealers. Our Space Hulk Tactics gameplay focuses on a squad of five Blood Angels attempting to blow up part of a Space Hulk and make a swift escape. In our preview gameplay we show you how new card system lets you power up units, unlock new strategies or simply buy you more moves to pull ahead of the enemy. We look at the importance of holding down every corridor and marvel at the incredible metal claws of our assault character. Space Hulk has often failed in games due to developers sticking too religiously to the ruleset or straying too far. Although we’ve yet to play the full Space Hulk Tactics campaign, we get the impression that Cyanide have hit the sweet spot - it taps into the claustrophobia and careful strategy of the board game, but with an extra layer of customisation through the card system to let you really shape the unit you want. In the final game you’ll be able to play two campaigns - one as the Blood Angels, one as the Genestealers - as well as enjoy an unlimited number of skirmish maps thanks to the new map maker. The map maker also allows you to build maps in based on Eldar and Ork ships, though this match plays out in the traditional imperial territory.
