It's our first time in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam! We were previously in the North of Vietnam but didn't have time to get to the south. Today we're exploring Saigon District 1 and 2 including some tourist hot spots. We also get a bit off of the tourist beaten path in the trendy District 2, Saigon. We start things off in one of the main squares of Saigon that has the statue of Ho Chi Minh and is right next to City Hall (People's Committee Building). After walking around and trying to cross the street we make our way to the Saigon Central Post Office. We then head almost next door to My Banh Mi where we have some absolutely delicious Banh Mi Sandwiches. Because the main cathedral is right next door we head there. Unfortunately Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon is under construction so you can't see much of it and can't go inside. After visiting Ho Chi Minh City Book Street we go back to District 2 where we're staying. District 2 is much more quiet than District 1, and seems to be the trendy and ex-pat area. We take a walk through the quiet streets and also grab a delicious Coconut coffee. Afterwards we take a walk around the trendy area.
