The type of method MC is using is suitable for younger tea leaves that are thin. Boiled water is first poured, and after the temperature of the water drops to about 75℃, the tea leaves can be placed in the cup, then you can start enjoying the tea by gently shaking the teacup to even out the richness of the tea. Middle placement splits the pouring of hot water into two separate times, and the bottom placement requires placing tea before pouring the water. [3] Gaiwan (盖碗) is a Chinese lidded bowl without a handle used for tea infusion and consumption, it has a bowl, a lid, and a saucer. [4] 公道杯 (Gongdao Bei, called the Fair Cup, or fairness pitcher) is used for holding and mixing the tea liquid. When brewing tea, the liquid is poured into the Fair Cup to prevent the liquid getting stronger or bitter from over brewing. It’s a cup made with the siphon principle, and it’s said that it’s also the fairest way to contain tea or wine, because the tea in each cup has the same taste; and each cup has the same amount of the tea. [5] The art of Chinese tea is quite complicated, from the type of clay ware, type of tea leaves, temperature of water, how the tea is poured (speed, amount of water poured in a go etc.) and it requires a lot of practice and comparison [6] For many types of Chinese tea, it is commonly heard that people will ‘wash’ the tea (洗茶) - which is actually a procedure where you brew the tea lightly with warm water (never with boiling water) to allow the tea leaves to spread open so the flavors will come out on the second brew. So some people will pour the first brew away. [7] An act to cover the gaiwan with the gaiwan’s lid, leaving only some space so the tea can be poured out. [8] Rooibos (read as Roy-Boss) is a south African red tea. [9] Regarding naming: - I wanted to make sure to use names that has characters forming into ‘Amber’ (琥珀, read as Hu Po) while carrying the meaning of the original names. - Vyn’s friend is Hu Ming (湖茗) in Chinese, where the first character means ‘lake’ and the second character means “young tea leaves”. So I’ve decided to use Agam as his surname (yes 湖 is a rare surname in China too), a Hebrew name that has the meaning of lake (while also ends with ‘Am’ to join with his lover's name to form ‘Amber’. Since his given name has the meaning of ’tea’, Ceylon is just a tea name. - Similar logic for his lover, her name is 文珀 (Wen Po), 珀 is the same as the character for amber that has a meaning of “pure, clear and transparent”, so I thought of using Beryl, a name that starts with “Ber” for “Amber Tea” while also being a type of crystal that is either opaque or transparent. Wayne is just a made up surname to match with the W from her CN surname Wen. - So just like the CN version, Hu Ming’s surname (Agam) and Wen Po’s given name (Beryl) is formed into the word “Amber” with a little twist. - Obviously the official NPC name is bound to be something different so please bear with this until official release. [10] The kind of spoon that are used to dig the soaked tea leaves in the teapot, or to put tea leaves from the caddy spoon into the teapot.
