How to flush your Yamaha outboard correctly!

Properly maintaining your Yamaha outboard motor is essential for long-lasting performance on the water! In this video Aaron goes more in-depth on how to flush a Yamaha motor using the cold flush! The USA and the majority of the places globally use this type of fitting. Australia does not and as such us Aussies have to use an adapter. They're $4.5-$6. The cold flush fitting back fills the water gallery's throughout the head, so it gets both sides of the thermostat and then goes down with gravity through the impeller. An impeller pulls water up from the bottom when turned on, as such, whilst on cold flush do not turn the motor on as it will starve the impeller of water. It's called a cold flush for a reason! Simply attach the adapter to the flushing port, connect a garden hose, and turn on the water while the engine is off. This process helps remove salt, sand, and other debris from the water jacket, ensuring a clean and healthy motor.
