How To Trap Your Life In A Sketchbook...In Ink And Watercolour

As we all know, life passes so quickly. Many of us love to capture special moments on camera (make that all of us). But what if you could capture your life in a different way? Slowly? By creating a sort of hand-drawn photo? When you carry a tiny sketchbook with you wherever you go, it becomes a natural extension of your everyday experience. I carry all my kit in a tiny bag, and because it also has a pocket for my phone and glasses, and even space for a couple of cards, I don't need anything else. That means that whenever I have an unexpected moment - anything from half an hour up to a free afternoon - I get out my sketchbook and zone out of the noise and into the the quiet of the moment. The wonderful thing about trapping your life in a sketchbook is that not only do you have a beautiful record of your world in art, but it is through a large volume of drawing and painting that you get really, really good. Your own style takes shape with enough volume of work drawn from life (always from life!) and what's more, you'll find that people are just lovely. I can't tell you how many wonderful experiences I have had with onlookers! A small kit is key. You'll find other videos on my channel describing mine, but you can adjust it according to your own preference. Keep it small, and it'll go everywhere with you.
