KMA Sessions présente Hugh COLTMAN & Thomas NAÏM trio. Britannique vivant en France, ancien leader du groupe blues-rock The Hoak; Hugh COLTMAN s’est mué en songwriter folk pop puis en quadragénaire explorateur du plus beau patrimoine du jazz. Entouré de prestigieux musiciens comme Freddy KOELLA à la guitare, Raphaël CHASSIN à la batterie ou encore Mellisa LAVEAUX aux chants, Hugh a enregistré son dernier album Who’s Happy à la Nouvelle Orléans sur laquelle souffle l’esprit des Cubanos Posttizos de Marc RIBOT ou les climats de Swordfishtrombones de Tom WAITS. Collaborateur de longue date, Thomas NAÏM a ainsi accompagné Hugh COLTMAN sur les albums Stories from the safe house et Zero Killed; ainsi que sur les tournées en qualité de guitariste. Cette KMA Sessions est l’occasion pour ces 2 musiciens de jouer à nouveau ensemble et nous interpréter un titre issu du dernier album de Hugh Who’s happy, ainsi qu’une reprise d’un classique de Jimi HENDRIX. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KMA Sessions introduces Hugh Coltman & Thomas NAÏM trio. Born in Britain but living in France, the former leader of blues-rock group The Hoax, Hugh COLTMAN morphed into a folk-rock songwriter before exploring the finest in jazz heritage in his forties. For his new album Who’s happy, he went to New Orleans, to breathe in the spirit of Marc RIBOT y los Cubanos Postizos, the piano of Rubén GONZÁLEZ in Buena Vista Social Club or the atmospheres of Tom WAITS' Swordfishtrombones. He was joined by famous musicians such as Freddy KOELLA on guitar, Raphaël CHASSIN on drums and Mellisa LAVEAUX on vocals. Thomas NAÏM & Hugh previously recorded together, on Hugh’s album Stories from the Safe House, Zero Killed; and shared the same stage on tour. They team up once again for KMA Sessions and play a song from Hugh’s last album Who’s happy, as well as a Jimi HENDRIX’s cover.
