Thomas is the leader of a group of boys that were trapped in a deadly maze. However, they are eventually “rescued” and brought into the outside world, where a corporation named WCKD are hard at work searching for a cure to the deadly disease that rotted the world. There, Thomas meets Raven—a young scientist who appears very familiar to him, despite the fact that they never met before. Sensing that the corporation isn’t as innocent, he investigates their compound and finds out that they’re using kids to experiment on in order to find the cure. One night, Thomas has a dream that is really a string of memories of the time he and Raven were experimented on and being harvested for the cure. He snaps into action and decides to revolt and escape. As he fights against the corporation, he has more and more memories of Raven and realizes that they knew each other, and that she betrayed his trust and became one of the scientists instead of helping him. What he doesn’t know though, is that she’s only helping WCKD to save him and find the cure to finally end all the madness. In the end, he understands and leaves her be instead of taking revenge.
